AVEVA™ Batch Management

Maximize asset utilization and plant output

AVEVA™ Batch Management software efficiently handles complex and flexible batch operations across process industries such as life sciences, fine chemicals, and food and beverage/CPG. Built in compliance with ISA-88 batch control standards, it provides structured guidance and supervision for both recipe management and batch execution. The system seamlessly coordinates with plant control systems, interfaces with operators, and manages batch activities, material flow, and production data—ensuring all information is captured in a historical database for a complete electronic batch record (EBR).

With AVEVA™ Batch Management, manufacturers can enhance yields through improved product quality and operational efficiency. Automating batch processes ensures consistent recipe adherence, maximizes asset utilization, reduces paper-based documentation, and shortens batch release cycles.

As a control-system-independent solution, AVEVA™ Batch Management enables recipe and batch management standardization across multiple sites. This simplifies new product introduction (NPI) processes and empowers manufacturers to adapt quickly to evolving market demands.

Key Features of AVEVA™ Batch Management

Batch Management

The AVEVA™ Batch Management server manages process models, materials, and recipes while coordinating multiple batch executions across connected equipment. It interfaces directly with control systems or integrates with AVEVA System Platform, and multiple servers can share a common batch history database. Designed for scalability and high availability, it supports reliable operation of critical batch processes.

Transfer Management

AVEVA™ Batch Management extends beyond ISA-88 with an advanced process model that links to equipment and manages transfer phases. It enables flexible product paths and concurrent multi-product, multi-stream batch execution with full material traceability.

Control System Neutral

AVEVA™ Batch Management connects to any control system in real time through AVEVA Communication Drivers but achieves its full potential when integrated with AVEVA System Platform. It includes object templates for units, connections, segments, and phases, while a model import utility automatically builds and synchronizes the batch process model with the System Platform plant model—making batch execution data readily available to AVEVA Historian, MES, and other applications.

Regulatory Compliance

AVEVA™ Batch Management supports compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and Eudralex Vol. 4 Annex 11 through enforced batch sequencing, electronic signatures, and robust security. Its material management features ensure accurate tracking and detailed electronic batch records (EBR) that meet regulatory standards.
